Here comes another cold front. I don’t mind the cool weather, but it does make it a bit tricky to plan—will it be a weekend on the beach or around a bonfire?

🏠 100 New Homes Coming to Northwood
GL Homes (a major Florida homebuilder) is teaming up with Huizenga Holdings to bring 100 new homes to WPB’s Northwood neighborhood. Northwood has been gaining attention from developers thanks to its proximity to the booming downtown area. Since it’s not a historic district, it’s much easier to tear down existing homes/buildings and build on the land.

🌎 14ft Sawfish Rescued in Lantana
FWC officers assisted local police in rescuing a 14-ft endangered smalltooth sawfish that was tangled in a cast net under a dock in Lantana. Since they are critically endangered and rarely seen, it was crucial to free it safely. A reminder to always be mindful of marine life while out on the water.

🏗️ Shadowed Square Makeover
The Shadowood Square shopping center in west Boca will be going through a major renovation. The old movie theater will be demolished to make way for new retail and dining spaces. It’s sad to see so many of our movie theaters go out like that. Especially the one in downtown WPB which was one of my favorites.

🥖Publix Introduces a New Bread
So I don't consider myself a Pub Sub fanatic like some people out there but I do love a delicious chicken tender sub. Over the weekend, I was halfway through ordering a sub when the guy next to me asked for the new soft white bread. I was a bit confused and asked about it, and they told me Publix had just released a new soft sub roll. As soon as I got to my car, I looked it up and sure enough, it’s true! I haven't had the opportunity to try it but hope to do so soon.

Local Coffee Shop of the Week

Carews Coffeehouse | Lake Worth

After a beautiful beach day in Lake Worth, my girlfriend and I decided to walk around downtown Lake Worth and explore a bit since we hadn’t been in the area for a while. That’s how we stumbled upon Carews. 

We loved the place! It has a cozy, inviting interior and a large open window that seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor seating area. All that accompanied by very friendly staff. The perfect spot to catch up with friends or get some work done.

We shared a delicious caramel latte and a croissant, both of which were very good. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area.
