🥫 5th Annual Back To School Food Drive
The Palm Beach County Food Bank is launching their fifth annual back to school food drive starting tomorrow, August 1 through August 31. They’re collecting nonperishable food items to help students in our county who are experiencing hunger. If you’d like to help out, visit the link to see a list of the most wanted items and all drop off sites. 

⛸️ Luxury Ice Rink Complex Construction Has Begun
The construction of a luxury ice rink in Palm Beach Gardens began this month. The ice sports complex will replace the beloved local Plant Drive Park on the SW corner of Lilac St and Plant Dr. It is set to open in December 2026 and will feature two NHL sized ice rinks for public skating, youth and adult hockey leagues, and figure skating. 

🦞 Lola's Seafood Eatery Has Closed
Lola’s Seafood Eatery in Palm Beach Gardens has closed its doors as of this past Sunday. Known for its New England style seafood, the restaurant cited rising costs and unsuccessful lease negotiations as the reasons behind the decision.

🏨 Gulfstream Hotel Plans On Opening This Year
The 100 year old Gulfstream Hotel in Lake Worth Beach has quite a history which you can read more about here. It has been closed since 2005, but now 20 years later, the historic hotel plans on reopening by the end of this year. I hope it finally does open so we can see this piece of local history come back to life.

Adoptable Pets

Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control is hosting an adoption event tomorrow from 12 PM to 6 PM, where they’ll be waiving adoption fees for all dogs. If you or someone you know is looking to adopt one of the sweet pups at the shelter, tomorrow is a great opportunity to do so.

I want you to meet a 6 year old sweetheart named Patch. He arrived at the shelter on April 10 (112 days ago), after his previous owner was evicted and checked into the hospital. Now he waits patiently for a new loving home to spend his golden years in. He’s a total lazy bug and just loves to hangout. If you’re a low energy dog lover, he’s the guy for you!

Meet Mocha, an absolutely adorable little kitten on the look out for her forever home. She’s a brave little explorer and you can definitely see it in her profile picture. Give her a chance, and Mocha will definitely sweeten up your life!
