Local Spotlight

📍3950 Georgia Ave, West Palm Beach
🍹 Daily Happy Hour: 4-7PM

El Segundo is a funky little Mexican restaurant tucked away in West Palm Beach that just might become your new favorite go to!

What To Expect

It’s located at The Peach, a creative hub featuring multiple art studios and galleries. I had no idea this place even existed until a few years ago when a friend recommended checking it out. It’s not a place you’ll just stumble upon while driving, it’s literally under Southern Blvd.

Once you step inside, it feels like you have entered a small restaurant somewhere in the Southwest. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere really depends on the night. It'll either be super lively with live music, or much more quiet and laid back.

They have a small menu (which I love), featuring creative bites like Brisket Burnt Ends tacos and a Wagyu Colombian Street Dog. Everything that I’ve had has been fresh and delicious. Oh and their cocktails are really good as well! This is usually our go to spot for grabbing apps and drinks.

Final Thoughts

This is one of my secret little hidden gems that I wanted to share with you, definitely worth checking out. Even if it’s just for a drink and some chips and guac, you’ll love it!

Beyond The Palm Beaches

📅 January 16 - 18, 2026
📍 Miami Dade Expo Center, 10901 SW 24th St, Miami
🕒️ Fri: 12PM - 6PM | Sat & Sun: 10AM - 6PM
🎟️ $22 GA or $56 for Friday First Admission

If you love orchids as much as I do, you’ll want to check this out. The Tamiami International Orchid Festival is back this month. It is the largest orchid festival in the country, featuring over 100 vendors under one roof.

What To Expect

You can expect to wander through a vast marketplace filled with orchid growers from around the world, representing regions like Brazil, Ecuador, Thailand and beyond. It’s a great chance to see rare and exotic varieties up close, chat with expert growers, and even take a few home.

Also included with your admission are a variety of classes happening throughout the weekend. Topics range from diagnosing, treating, and preventing orchid diseases to learning about the propagation and preservation of endangered orchid species.

Final Thoughts

From familiar favorites to rare and hard to find varieties, it’s an experience that truly showcases the diversity and beauty of orchids on a global scale.

This is a very popular event that draws thousands of visitors, so I recommend arriving as early as possible. It’s about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive from West Palm with no traffic, making it a great day trip if you plan ahead.
