A sandwich might be one of the easiest meals to throw together, but it takes real skill to create a takeout sandwich you’ll crave more than your favorite restaurant order. Today, I’m sharing one of the best sandwich spots in the county, and maybe even in all of South Florida.

About

The Buccan Sandwich Shop has been a thing on Palm Beach Island since 2014, though it was mostly known to those who dined at Buccan or spent time on the island. It wasn’t until two years ago, when they opened a second sandwich shop location at Bucaan’s sister restaurant, Grato, that the sandwiches began to go viral.

The sandwich shop operates as a takeout only window both in Palm Beach and West Palm Beach. The shop offers hot and cold sandwiches, salads, housemade lemonades and teas, and fresh chocolate chip cookies.

My Favorite Sandwich

I have only been to their West Palm location, and it has never disappointed. The lemonades and cookies are delicious, and I’ve tried the Cuban, Steak Bomb, Banh Mi, Italian, BLT and the Beef Carpaccio. They’re all very good, but nothing beats the Beef Carpaccio.

It’s served on a fresh baguette and layered with arugula, crispy and balsamic caramelized onions, parmesan, mayo, lemon vinaigrette and, of course, paper thin slices of beef. Every ingredient plays its own role and comes together to form a sandwich that is to die for.

Final Thoughts

Both locations tend to get super busy and parking can be a pain because of it. So keep that in mind, and I recommend ordering online so that by the time you find a parking spot, your food will be ready. I highly recommend grabbing a sandwich from them one day, you might just become obsessed like me.

Beyond The Palm Beaches

📍6234 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale
🕒️ Wednesday - Monday | 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM

Last week I was visiting a friend in Fort Lauderdale, and we decided to check out a new restaurant neither of us had been to before. We ended up at an incredible Thai restaurant, and the food was so good that I had to share this spot with you.

What to Expect

Larb has been serving their delicious, authentic Thai dishes in the area for over 20 years, and earlier this year they finally received the recognition they deserve with a spot in the Michelin Guide.

This restaurant transports you straight to northeastern Thailand, serving everything from Khao Soi to Mango Sticky Rice. The moment you step inside, you’re hit with the aromas of fragrant herbs, spices, and sizzling curries coming from the open kitchen in full view.

They don’t take reservations, so you’ll probably have to wait, but they move pretty quickly. We went on a Saturday around 7pm and were seated in about 20 minutes.

What I Loved

As my appetizer, I had the Moo Ping, a Thai style marinated pork skewer, and it was amazing, super tender, juicy and packed with flavor. For my main dish, I went with the beef Khao Soi, a creamy coconut curry soup that has both fried and boiled noodles. It is easily one of the best Thai dishes I’ve ever had.

Final Thoughts

If you’re ever in the area or just love discovering great food, this place is absolutely worth a visit. The food is incredible and very affordable, especially considering the quality.
